Activating your Selections
Yes, each quarter you need to activate your Shopper Cash Rewards Selections. You earn 6% cash back on your first $1,500 in eligible net purchases each quarter on the combined two retailers you choose. You earn 3% cash back on your first $1,500 on your choice of one everyday category, and 1.5% cash back on all your other eligible net purchases. During any calendar quarter in which you spend more than $1,500 combined at your two 6% retailers, you will earn the 1.5% Cash Rewards for any spending over $1,500 during that quarter. During any calendar quarter in which you spend more than $1,500 combined at your one 3% purchases category, you will earn the 1.5% Cash Rewards for any spending over $1,500 during that quarter. You will begin earning additional cash back on eligible net purchases in your Shopper Cash Rewards Selections at the start of the calendar quarter, or the date your registration is effective, whichever is later. Allow up to 3 business days for registration to take effect. If you do not choose your Shopper Cash Rewards Selections each quarter, all your eligible net purchases will still earn 1.5% cash back. U.S. Bank reserves the right to change Retailers.
You can choose your Shopper Cash Rewards Selections up to five days before the end of the current quarter. You begin earning 6% and 3% cash back in your selected Selections three business days after you activate them.
You can view and choose your Shopper Cash Rewards Selections beginning 45 days prior to the start of the upcoming quarter until five days before the end of the quarter. You begin earning 6% and 3% cash back in your selected two retailers and one purchase category at the start of the calendar quarter, or the date your registration is effective, whichever is later. Allow up to 3 business days for registration to take effect.

Yes! We will remind you to choose you Shopper Cash Rewards Selections each quarter if you sign up for free reminders via text message in the Rewards Center or we will email you at the address on file with U.S. Bank, which you can view and update at usbank.com under “Profile & settings.” Sign in and click the "Reminders" link in the navigation menu.
If the new quarter is more than five days away, yes. You can change your upcoming quarter’s Shopper Cash Rewards Selections until five days before the first day of the new quarter. After that, the quarter’s Shopper Cash Rewards Selections are locked and cannot be changed.

2. Phone: Call the number on the back of your U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards Card and one of our Service Advisors will help you change your Shopper Cash Rewards Selections if there are more than five days before the beginning of the upcoming quarter.
Earning cash back
Only U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards Cardmembers are eligible to choose Shopper Cash Rewards Selections and earn the additional cash back. See the Program Rules for additional details.
Note: This card is intended for consumer purchases only. If you want a card for business purchases, please contact Cardmember Services at 800.285.8585 or visit your local U.S. Bank branch to open an account intended for business purchases. We reserve the right to close card accounts not used in accordance with the Cardmember Agreement.
Yes! If you do not select Shopper Cash Rewards Selections for a given quarter, you will still earn 1.5% on all eligible net purchases made during the quarter. You will not, however, be eligible to earn 6% or 3% cash back for the quarter.
First, activate your new U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards Card. After activation, activate your Shopper Cash Rewards Selections. You will begin earning 6% and 3% cash back three business days after selection. Please note that registration closes five days before the end of each quarter.
After choosing your Shopper Cash Rewards Selections, you will earn 6% cash back on your first $1,500 in combined net purchases (purchases minus returns or credits) in your two chosen 6% Selections. During any calendar quarter in which you spend more than $1,500 combined at your two 6% retailers, you will earn the 1.5% Cash Rewards for any spending over $1,500 at your 6% Retailers during that quarter. You will earn 3% cash back on your first $1,500 in net purchases (purchases minus returns or credits) in your chosen 3% selections. During any calendar quarter in which you spend more than $1,500 combined at your one 3% purchases category, you will earn the 1.5% Cash Rewards for any spending over $1,500 at your 3% purchase category during that quarter.
Yes. Transactions earn cash back based on their transaction dates, not their posting dates.
The Shopper Cash Rewards summary section of your monthly credit card statement will show what you earned in your Shopper Cash Rewards Selections. For example, if the Shopper Cash Rewards Selections you activated were Gas, Target and Apple, your statement would include the following summary: "Bonus-Gas, Target, Apple”.
Merchants that accept Visa credit cards are assigned a merchant code, determined by the merchant or its processor. U.S. Bank makes every effort to include all relevant merchant category codes in its listed Retailer and Purchase Categories. As U.S. Bank cannot control how merchants choose to classify transactions, we cannot guarantee a transaction will qualify for 3% and 6% Cash Rewards. Merchant subsidiary purchases and third-party delivery services are not eligible for additional Cash Rewards earning and will earn 1.5% Cash Rewards.
Gas and electric vehicle charging purchases at discount stores/supercenters, wholesale clubs and grocery stores/supermarkets will no longer qualify for the gas station and electric vehicle charging station everyday category and will only earn 1.5% cash back.
Redeeming cash back
You can see your total available cash back rewards online at usbank.com or through the U.S. Bank Mobile App any time. Log in to your account and select "View rewards" next to your Shopper Cash Rewards card. Your cash back rewards balance will be posted there. You can also see your earnings, redemptions, and available cash back on your monthly credit card statement.
Maximum Cash Rewards value applies to Cash Rewards redeemed for a statement credit or deposit into an eligible U.S. Bank Account. The redemption value may be different if you choose to redeem your Cash Rewards for other gift cards, Real-Time Rewards and other rewards options. Other restrictions apply. Minimum redemption amounts may vary and are subject to change without notice.
You can redeem your cash rewards at any time online at usbank.com or through the U.S. Bank Mobile App. Log in to your account and select "View rewards" next to your Shopper Cash Rewards card or call the Cardmember Services number on the back of your card.
Redeeming your cash back rewards for a statement credit does not count as a payment and thus will not reduce your minimum payment. Your redemption will reduce your account balance, however.
If you are eligible to redeem Cash Back for your Annual Membership Fee the redemption option will display in the Rewards Center on the Home Page. Click on the link and follow the redemption steps.
If you redeem Cash Back for this redemption option more than 3 business days before your Annual Membership Fee is billed, a credit in the amount of the Annual Membership Fee will be applied on the next business day after the fee is billed on your statement. If you redeem after that, a credit in the amount of the Annual Membership Fee will be applied 7-10 business days after the date of redemption.
Cash back will not expire as long as your Account remains open.
Subject to applicable law, you may not redeem Cash Rewards, and you will immediately lose all of your Cash Rewards, if your Account is closed to future transactions (including, but not limited to, due to Program misuse, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or death). Cash Rewards have no value until redeemed. Please call Cardmember Service at 800-285-8585 for inquiries about reopening a U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards account.
Real-Time Rewards
It’s a new rewards redemption method that enables you to turn your purchases into rewards. Your mobile device can be used to immediately redeem cash rewards in the form of a credit to your monthly billing statement.
First, complete a 2-minute registration to set your preferences. Then, after you make a purchase that meets your preferences, and receive a text asking if you want to use cash rewards to redeem immediately after the purchase, simply reply ‘REDEEM’ to the message to complete the redemption. You must have enough cash rewards to cover the entire purchase in order to receive the text message to redeem. Your cash rewards will be deducted from your cash rewards balance and redeemed in the form of a credit to your monthly billing statement. See Program Rules for additional details.
Yes, you may assign a 10-digit U.S. mobile number to your accounts in good standing (not past due or overlimit).
No. You may only assign one 10-digit U.S. mobile number per account.
You may only redeem against the most recent text message received.
The text message is sent at the time of the eligible purchase. You have 24 hours from the time the purchase is made to respond to the text message and redeem cash rewards.
Most gas and restaurant purchases are not available for Real-Time redemption because they are often two-stage authorization processes. For instance, restaurant purchases often have a tip after the initial authorization.
No, Real-Time Rewards text messages are available only for transactions with U.S. merchants.
You may receive a Real-Time Rewards text message for an auto bill pay transaction if the purchase falls within your preference selections.
The statement credit may be different from your final purchase amount if the transaction included a gratuity, fees or estimated taxes.
You can opt-out at any time by going online to the Rewards Center or by texting ‘STOP’ to REDEEM (733336) or by calling the Rewards Center at 844-357-2015. After you opt-out, you may still receive text messages for up to 24 hours. Please see Rules for additional details.
